Leicester - Castle Ward
Description
I am a partner at Newby Casteman (West Walk Building, 110 Regent Road LE1 7LT). The entrance to our building and office parking is on West Walk. There are double yellow lines down the entirety of West Walk, on both sides of the road. The road is also one way. Every week day during term time, we are plagued by motorists parking on the double yellow lines outside our offices as they see this as the most convenient place to park to drop off and pick up students for Regent College. Today, one such motorist caused an accident by pulling up and parking on double yellow lines as a car reversed out of our office car park. This is not the first time this has happened. We have CCTV and dash cam footage. As a business, we are heartily sick of the lack of enforcement of the double yellow lines. We have never seen a parking warden in the area so unsurprisingly motorists are not deterred from using West Walk as parking for students of Regent College. Please could Leicester City Council actually enforce the no stopping at any time denoted by the double yellow lines? West Walk is a narrow road and having cars parked on the road makes it particularly hazardous for those accessing our premises.
