Hello,<br/><br/>I hope you’re well. I’m writing to report an ongoing issue with improper waste disposal taking place at the flats on York Street (near our property). Residents from these flats have been regularly dumping loose rubbish bags on the pavement next to our designated bins, rather than using their own waste collection facilities.<br/><br/>Because of this, Biffa has refused to collect our commercial waste, stating that the additional domestic bin bags placed around the bins are not part of our scheduled collection and fall outside of their responsibility. As a result, our rubbish is not being collected, which is now leading to:<br/>Waste piling up in a public area<br/>Increase in litter spreading across the street<br/>Bad odours and potential pest problems<br/>Unfair blame placed on us despite the issue originating from the neighbouring flats<br/><br/>We have done our best to manage our waste correctly and ensure everything is contained inside the bins provided. However, we are now at a point where the situation is affecting our business operations and the cleanliness of the street.<br/><br/>We are requesting the council’s support with:<br/>Investigating and identifying the flats responsible for the dumped domestic rubbish.<br/>Providing enforcement, signage, notices, or fines if necessary to prevent further misuse.<br/>Helping us reinstate regular rubbish collection from Biffa by confirming that we are not responsible for the loose rubbish.<br/><br/>I have attached the photos.<br/><br/>Thank you for taking this seriously.
