The lamp post was damaged and fell last December 2024 on Christmas Eve. We have had no replacement of the street light. As the days are getting shorter now it will make it difficult for residents , especially the elderly in the evening and at night. Neighbours have been complaining that’s it difficult to see when opening the front door and doesn’t feel safe when walking in the dark as you can’t even see the kerb or uneven paving. Different Tenants come and go frequently at this address, and they are constantly leaving their rubbish outside the property next to the public bin corner Mere Road and Dale Street. This has been an ongoing problem for years and the Council don’t do anything about it and take sometimes over a week to clear the pathway of large items of dumped rubbish on the footpath causing a fall hazard to all that pass by including disabled people who cannot cross in their wheelchair. Tenants are regularly smoking weed and there have also been drug dealing from the property. At least 3-4 bins are regularly left outside the property also blocking the footpath. People including workmen at the property have been regularly seen dumping their waste/rubbish including pushchairs, sofas, broken furniture, bin bags, food items outside the house and also across the house park side on the footpath. The HMO licence should be revoked and the property should be used by one family only. This is a close nit residential area and properties like this are making the area look bad.-159 Mere Road, Leicester, UK
