Important Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to raise concerns regarding dogs being walked off-leash in Evington Park and the lack of clear signage reminding owners to keep their dogs under control. On several occasions, I have witnessed dogs staring at people and children in particular with an instict to react, running up to children, and ignoring their owners’ recall commands. This is becoming increasingly worrying for families and other park users, particularly when owners are unable to regain control of their dogs and they are off leash. Dogs ready to go after squirrels after its instincts kicked in. Incidents like this highlight the risks posed when dogs are not properly controlled in public parks. There are currently no prominent or clearly visible signs advising owners about keeping dogs on leads or warning of possible fines or enforcement action. I strongly believe clearer signage should be installed throughout the park, particularly near entrances and areas frequently used by families and wildlife. The signs should clearly state: - Dogs must be kept under proper control at all times - Owners must have effective recall of their dogs - Dogs should be kept on leads where appropriate - Failure to comply may result in fines or enforcement action Improved signage and awareness would help encourage responsible dog ownership and make the park safer for children, wildlife, and all visitors.-Evington Park, The Common, Evington, Leicester, UK

After the mud run held on the park on Saturday, litter, including, bottles, cans, and food packaging have been left all over the park, at and inbetween the different stations that were at the event. There are also smashed bottles, near the benches alongside the brook.
Several local people have already picked up a lot of the rubbish that had been left.
When events are held at Abbey Park or Victoria Park there is always a big clean up operation. There does not appear to have been a clean up operation on Braunstone Park.

Church lane gardens park. I took my two children here today ages 3 and 1. When I arrived a man and woman were there with no children, just their two dogs off the leash. They were throwing a ball right into the kids slide/swing so the dog would run over there. According to byelaws they should not have been in the park if they are not looking after children there. Additionally dogs off the leash running around are not under control and therefore in breach of the sign on the door which he says strictly dogs must be kept under control. In the past I have seen dog poo in said park and a child's ball going into the dog poo leaving the child unable to play. This park is for children not dogs. Today I then witnessed another older woman with no children come into the park then take her dog off the lead. The dog ran right up to my son to jump on him. I do not want dogs around my small children and I took them to this park so they could play safely. I asked the olwoman to put her dog on the lead and take it away from my children. She was annoyed and said lots of people let their dogs play in this park. I referred her to the sign on the door. Dog owners can take their dogs to any other park. Why are adults with no children coming into a park for small children letting their dogs run around fouling etc leaving children with limited spaces to play and oarents worrying about dog poo and out of control dogs. There is no need to bring dogs to this park. Please could you look into making it a dog free zone. Or at the very least a place where dogs must be kept on a leash at all times -50 Brinsmead Road, Leicester, LE2 3WB
