I’d like to report a long‑term build‑up of rubbish at the property at 13 Gretna Way, LE5 2PQ. The front garden and side entry have had waste left for several years. Items include:

- A tall fridge freezer
- A flat‑screen TV
- Numerous refuse bags containing general waste and clothing
- An old aluminium basketball hoop stand
- Other assorted household rubbish

The waste is visible from the street and has been present for a long time. It is unsightly and may attract vermin. -13 Gretna Way, Leicester, LE5 2PQ

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope this email finds you well.

Firstly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you and the teams who work tirelessly to keep Leicester clean, safe, and welcoming. I know that maintaining our city is no small task, and your continued efforts are genuinely appreciated.

I am writing on behalf of myself and several members of our local community to raise a concern regarding the recent increase in litter across our streets and surrounding public spaces.

Over recent weeks, it has been disheartening to see the condition of parts of the area decline. Aside from affecting the appearance of our neighbourhood, accumulated litter can also attract pests and create potential health and safety risks for residents, visitors, and wildlife if left unaddressed.

To provide some context, I have attached a selection of photographs showing examples of what we have observed. It’s not just the bin being full, but rather so the rise in littering too.

I would also like to mention that the street light near one of the public bins has been flickering. It may already have been reported or resolved, but I felt it was worth bringing to your attention in case it has not yet been identified.

We fully appreciate that maintaining public spaces requires significant planning and resources. Our intention is to share our concerns in the hope that the area can be reviewed and, where possible, any additional cleaning or maintenance considered.

Thank you for taking the time to read this email and for the invaluable work you and your colleagues do each day. Your commitment to our city does not go unnoticed, and it is sincerely appreciated. We hope our comments are received in the constructive spirit in which they are intended, and we look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
-Highfield Street, Leicester, UK
